Banquet/Event Server

Description

The role’s primary purpose is to interact with guests and ensure they have a great experience while dining or meeting at the hotel. Banquet Servers provide friendly, efficient service, attend to guest needs, and create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted.
• Prepare rooms for use; adjust lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive.
• Communicate with the Hotel’s Director of Sales regarding any special needs and assist in keeping events on time.
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all banquet areas.
• Communicate guest needs, problems, and concerns to the Director of Sales.
• Reset meeting rooms for the next event when contracts are within one day of the previous event.
• Keep inventory of all banquet equipment organized and stored appropriately.
• Build relationships and provide groups with a lasting hotel experience to encourage return business.
• Deliver proper dining service: serve items, fulfill customer needs, buss tables, replenish utensils, and refill glasses.
• Assist with serving drinks at the Hotel’s Lobby Bar.
• Deliver alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks to customers' tables.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by the supervisor.
• Greet all guests warmly.
• Adhere consistently to grooming and appearance standards.

Requirements

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), prior serving experience, strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work a variable schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.

• Understand and communicate the hotel’s products and services.
