Support in the preparation of proposals, tasks, reports, and other documents.
Liaison with client field/facility staff, lead/assist with communicating critical condition findings.
Support the Mid-Atlantic District and National Bridge Inspection group in performing bridge, tunnel, ancillary, culvert inspections in different jurisdictions as required.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Works independently with minimal oversight and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
Plan, schedule, and/or perform bridge and tunnel inspections for multiple clients throughout the regions in accordance with the requirements of specific Bridge Owners, but in all cases, in compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS), the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges, the Specification for Nation Tunnel Inventory (NTIS), and the Tunnel Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Evaluation (TOMIE) Manual .
Perform engineering calculations on various bridge repair designs, bridge load ratings, and construction inspections.
Create or assist with creating and/or reviewing all required inspection reports.
Enforce safe operations in field.
Ensure technical compliance with all applicable standards and specifications.
Quality Control review of client deliverables.
Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course
Direct other field team members.

Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
Extensive successful management of bridge inspection projects for VDOT.
Experience with Inspecting ancillary sign structures for VDOT and other transportation agencies.
Familiar with or certifications in rope access techniques and/or UAS operations.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to supervise, train and direct the work of team members.
Cognizant of time and budget management.
Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
Experience with Inspecting Complex Bridges for VDOT, DDOT, and WMATA
Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically and solve problems.
Ability to work well in team-oriented structure.
Familiar with or certifications in various NDT techniques and UAS applications
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
Attendance of additional NHI courses (e.g., NSTM, LRFR, and Scour related)
10+ years of experience in bridge inspection (NBIS) with VDOT and other transportation clients.
