In the Bridge Team Lead role you will oversee production operations, staff development, profitability, morale, quality control, and marketing support. You will act as Project Manager or Bridge Task Lead, manage technical service functions, coordinate with other sections and the Area Bridges & Structures BC Leader, and engage directly with industrial and public clients.

- Participate in marketing planning, proposal development, and interview processes.
- Engage directly with industrial and public clients on marketing, project production, and related matters.
- Ensure all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through a proactive project‑management system.
- Implement, monitor, and support company policies.
- Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with National Directors and marketing staff on local and national marketing and production efforts.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, ProjectWise, MathCAD, Bluebeam, and various bridge‑design software packages. Familiarity with TxDOT bridge design manuals and the ability to work independently, collaborate across disciplines, and lead multidisciplinary coordination are also desired.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of 10 years’ experience, and any professional registration or license needed for the role. Strong communication, leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture are essential.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, ProjectWise, MathCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Proficiency with bridge‑design software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise/OpenBridge Designer, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, LARSA, SPColumn, and BridgeLink.
- Knowledge of TxDOT bridge design manuals, guidance, standards, and preferred practices.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance and collaborate across disciplines and offices.
- Capability to lead coordination with other disciplines affecting bridge tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant professional registration, license, or certification as required.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
