To work alongside and support the Framework Preconstruction Manager on a programme of work including water and waste projects within our framework and major projects engagements. To support successful delivery in the preconstruction phase including design, client and supply chain engagement, by creating a quality and consistent approach to preconstruction across the framework. To support the Precon Manager in a matrix organisational structure with accountability for the consistency and quality of our preconstruction performance between SG0 to SG3. To support the Precon Manager at peer level with the Programme Managers to steer our AMP8 Programme efforts.

- Support the Precon Manager in assuring that Cost Settlement Governance standards are met across all projects in preconstruction.
- Ensuring works procedures are produced to assist with control quality where applicable
- Maintain the Company’s reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with partners/supply chain
- Support the Precon Manager in delivery of the annualised strategy metrics and strategic action plans
- Plan and manage the development of commercially and technically efficient solutions that meet the customer’s needs and requirements.
- Co‑ordinate the wider proposals and project team (including SMEs) to understand, identify and provide mitigations to challenges, risks and opportunities.
- Support the Precon Manager in successful engagement into ORC governance for projects
- Lead and manage reviews of customer enquiry documentation and complete scope gap reviews.
- Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
- Support the Precon Manager in continuous improvement within the PM and DM communities in the preconstruction phase
- Ensuring, in conjunction with the Programme Design Managers, that adequate technical reviews are carried out for each project to ensure successful delivery
- Work alongside the proposals team to ensure proposals are in line with company governance procedures, whilst providing support to the estimating team on technical requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining Client relations, resolving Client-related problems and developing opportunities for further business.
- Build strong internal and external relationships and help to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers’ perception and satisfaction
- Support the Precon Manager in assuring projects adhere to the Thames region governance tracker requirements for successful preconstruction delivery.
- Offers support, advice and guidance to the Project Managers on all aspects of the preconstruction, and lends assistance with solving problems as required
- Drive pre-target cost setting de-risking on projects so MWHT can successfully ‘sell’ projects at the right price and risk profile.

Experience in water / wastewater infrastructure
Regular travel throughout the Thames Region office-based locations required.
Based in Coppermills, but weekly travel required to Hampton and Maple Lodge, as required by the Preconstruction Manager.
- Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets
- Strategic, operational, technical and management skills
- Experience in water / wastewater infrastructure Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline.
- Chartered in a construction or engineering discipline
- Project Management experience in a variety of project sizes and complexity
- APMP or equivalent
- Extensive experience in large scale infrastructure programme delivery
- Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance
- Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients and end users.
