Within the Safety and Compliance team, interns help ensure that products, processes and operations meet applicable laws, regulations and standards, protecting worker health, product safety and the environment. The role provides exposure to a wide range of regulatory frameworks and the chance to work with global product development and legal colleagues to reduce liability.
Key duties include developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting internal and external audits, and providing compliance support for product design, manufacturing and operations. Interns investigate non‑compliance incidents, assist with corrective actions, and create training materials on standards and best practices.
Candidates should be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an anticipated graduation of May 2027. They should have a strong interest in regulatory affairs, familiarity with analog/digital circuit design tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and an understanding—or willingness to learn—regulatory standards like FCC, CE, RoHS, REACH, ANSI, UL and IEC. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; sponsorship is not available.
The Copeland Internship Program offers a 3‑4 month paid experience where interns work on real projects that have immediate impact. Participants receive mentorship from senior leaders, collaborate across multiple departments, and develop professional skills in a culture of collaboration, innovation and inclusion. Interns join a diverse global team and contribute ideas from day one.
Copeland offers competitive compensation, a flexible dress code, and access to professional‑development events, networking opportunities and possible relocation assistance for interns traveling more than 51 miles. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) options, paid parental leave, vacation and holiday time, and a supportive environment that invests in employee growth.
