Direct the permitting process for mining, quarrying, and resource development projects, including preparation of technical documentation and liaison with regulators.
Review and approve technical deliverables, including geologic models, resource estimates, and permit applications.
Serve as the firm’s subject matter expert on geology, hydrogeology, and resource development for cement, aggregates, industrial minerals and metals.
Lead technical teams in geological and hydrogeological investigations, modeling, and permitting.
Provide technical input to feasibility studies, due diligence reviews, and environmental impact assessments.
Stay current on regulatory changes, mining trends, and technological advancements relevant to cement, aggregates, and metals.
Evaluate geotechnical and geological conditions affecting mine design, slope stability, and material extraction.
Develop 2D and 3D geologic and hydrogeologic models for resource/reserve estimation, mine planning, and permitting.
Conduct hydrogeologic studies to assess groundwater supply, dewatering requirements, and potential impacts to surface and groundwater resources.
Mentor and develop junior geologists and technical staff.
Represent the company with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community stakeholders.
Support cement and aggregate quality evaluations, including raw material characterization and testing.
Lead geologic and hydrogeologic site investigations, including drilling oversight, logging, sampling, aquifer testing, and pumping tests.
Provide senior-level oversight of exploration, drilling, sampling, and field programs.
Apply advanced geostatistics, modeling software, and GIS to develop resource interpretations and mine plans.
Support business development through client engagement, proposal preparation, and presentations.

Advanced technical expertise in geology, hydrogeology, and resource assessment.

MSHA Part 46/48 preferred.
HAZWOPER Certification and understanding of safety protocols preferred.
Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours.
