The Energy Marshal serves as the primary onsite authority for controlling, coordinating, and overseeing all electrical energization, de‑energization, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities on the Cedar Rapids data center project, ensuring compliance with Hays’ Energy Control Program, NFPA 70E, OSHA standards, and project‑specific protocols.
Key duties include governing energization and LOTO programs, developing and updating safety plans, managing documentation and approvals, maintaining real‑time system status, and conducting daily field inspections and coordination meetings to keep energized work boundaries safe and well‑communicated.
Applicants must have at least seven years of electrical construction experience with medium‑ and low‑voltage systems, hands‑on knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical safety, and LOTO procedures, and the ability to read complex electrical drawings. Prior experience as an Energy Marshal or similar role, data‑center construction exposure, and relevant certifications are required, with a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician status preferred.
