Description

The Director of Assisted Living (DoAL) leads the assisted living program and shares responsibility for the community’s overall success. This role manages day‑to‑day operations, coordinates planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program and its budget, and develops care plans based on resident assessments. The DoAL also serves as a liaison with healthcare providers, hospitals, and community organizations, and works with the Executive Director and HR on staffing, evaluations, and compliance.

• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver resident services.
• Attend departmental and community meetings and projects as directed.
• Coordinate care for Enliven residents alongside the Enliven Director.
• Conduct pre‑move‑in resident assessments with the sales team.
• Develop and update person‑centered resident service plans.
• Communicate with responsible parties, healthcare providers, and pharmacists to coordinate care.
• Maintain ongoing positive relationships with residents’ families and responsible parties.
• Facilitate resident assessment and service plan meetings with the Executive Director.
• Collaborate with the Business Office to align level‑of‑care charges with service plans.
• Implement policies, monitor key performance indicators, and ensure compliance.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and supervise staff and club coordinators; oversee orientation.
• Complete incident reports and conduct investigations as needed.
• Supervise medication administration, storage, distribution, and discontinuation per state law.
• Support resident‑centered wellness and activity programs.
• Ensure confidentiality and protect resident and employee rights.
• Maintain ongoing compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting standards.
• Oversee the Club Program, identify potential participants, and coordinate involvement.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current nursing license and have experience in health, human services, or community services. Required skills include strong organizational and time‑management abilities, excellent oral and written communication, and proven experience hiring, directing, and managing personnel. The role also demands knowledge of state regulations, Nurse Practice Acts, OSHA, EPA, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, ADP, electronic health records, and related software.
