You will assemble and test electric motor prototypes according to engineering specifications, operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, and perform inspections and quality checks to ensure product integrity. Collaboration with engineering and development teams will be essential to refine processes and designs. You will also document procedures, test results and improvement opportunities while supporting continuous‑improvement, safety and lean manufacturing initiatives.
The role requires a basic understanding of major functional processes, the ability to apply operational knowledge to diverse situations, and the skill to explain how support functions interdepend with line operations. Decision‑making and critical‑thinking abilities are needed to analyze data, assess risks and prioritize concerns. You will also draw on basic engineering concepts to design and implement manufacturing solutions safely.
A working knowledge of manufacturing equipment—including electrical, mechanical and logistics tools—and routine preventive maintenance is expected. You should be familiar with existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes, and be able to follow standard procedures for production, process monitoring and control. Safety awareness is critical; you must identify hazards, conduct daily equipment checks and take appropriate action when unsafe conditions are encountered.
A technical diploma or associate degree in manufacturing, electronics or a related field is preferred, along with hands‑on experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, testing or prototyping. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions, strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential. You must be willing to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Physical demands include occasionally lifting parts up to 35 lb individually or 70 lb with a team, bending, reaching, squatting and standing or sitting for extended periods. Wearing required personal protective equipment and working in environments with frequently changing temperatures is required.
