The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the grounds at the client location, including lawns, fields, walks, pathways, roads, and parking lots. This role ensures that all outdoor areas are kept in optimal condition and present a professional appearance.
Key duties include mowing lawns with hand or power mowers, trimming and edging around walks, flower beds, and walls, and pruning shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth. The keeper also sprays fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides, rakes leaves, cleans litter, plants vegetation, waters lawns and shrubs, and repairs fences, gates, walls, and drainage systems. Additional tasks involve operating tractors with attachments, sharpening tools, and adhering to C&W Services health and safety regulations.
Basic qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent, with an apprenticeship or trade school graduation considered a plus. Candidates must have at least three years of groundskeeping experience on similar facilities and possess a multi‑skill set covering landscaping, irrigation, and equipment operation. The role demands the ability to lift up to 50 lb, operate motor vehicles, and work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Cushman & Wakefield offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include health, vision, dental, flexible spending, health savings, retirement, life, and disability insurance, as well as paid and unpaid time off. Compensation is competitive, ranging from $14.03 to $16.50 per hour, and will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and collective bargaining agreements. The company ensures compliance with minimum wage and provides equal employment opportunities.
