What you would be doing

  • Responsible for the design of solar facilities, substation and BESS under the direction of other senior engineering staff.
  • Perform various power system studies like short circuit, cable ampacity, Arc flash, Load flow and Energy yield
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards related to power systems and renewable energy.
  • Perform engineering and design calculations such as Grounding Study, Short circuit study, Cable Ampacity study, Load Flow study, ARC Flash and AC/DC voltage drop calculation.
  • Design and analysis of decarbonized energy systems in projects ranging from supplyside renewable generation to transmission and distribution side infrastructure
  • Assist with the documentation and organization of project data and results.
  • Assist in the design, analysis, and simulation of electrical power systems, including renewable energy sources (solar, wind, battery storage).

  • Working understanding of project development process and project finance
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline related to Electrical, Power System, or Renewable Energy.
  • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for teambased working
  • FE/EIT certification
  • Scripting/Programming (Python, C++, or other) proficiency and basic knowledge of power system software like ETAP, PSSE.
  • Innovative minds: We’re looking for critical thinkers who embrace new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline related to Power System or Renewable Energy.
  • Ready to learn transmission and distribution line design and associated software like PLSCAD.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM or similar is a plus.
  • Ready to learn and deliver various aspects of Solar and substation design such as sizing of DC and AC cable and its layout.
  • Basic knowledge of power systems, renewable energy technologies, and energy storage systems.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD will be a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Dallas Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Dallas is $21.50 to $39.50 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Dallas will differ.
