Asset Management Intern

Description

• Review loans that are transferred to Special Servicing, learning how Performing Asset Management and Construction Management work together to resolve issues throughout the loan life cycle.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
• Conduct market and property-level research to provide context for loans and asset performance.
• Review borrowers draw requests, validate against budgets, documentation and inspection reports.
• Assist in identifying potential risks such as delays, budget overruns, or compliance gaps.
• Track and identify construction progress, schedules, and variances.
• Comply with all Company procedures for training, compliance, audits, and reporting.
• Assist in monitoring loan performance, borrower compliance, and key deadlines such as maturities, extensions, and covenants.
• Assist Primary (core) Servicing representatives in significant market events outreach efforts, as needed.
• Prepare analysis of property operating information in accordance with CRE industry standards.
• Support preparation of internal reports, trackers, dashboards and portfolio summaries.

Requirements

• Learning Sessions: Master Excel, understand credit, and learn to invest.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing degree in finance, real estate, business, construction management or related field (Finance and Construction Management preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret nonverbal cues.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
