The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and execute cost‑out projects across castings, forgings, sheet steel, stamping, and fabrication as part of the Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team, working closely with the Global Procurement Organization and product divisions to generate savings opportunities.
- Execute enterprise‑wide strategic projects for Castings, Forgings, Sheet Steel, Stampings, and Fabrication commodities with Global Procurement Leaders.
- Implement strategic and operational plans for VAVE, Resourcing, Negotiation, and Part Rationalization to achieve measurable cost‑out goals.
- Generate technically and commercially viable ideas to reduce product cost and enhance market competitiveness.
- Drive productivity through supplier consolidations, key data improvements, and avoidance of part proliferation.
- Identify and develop reusable knowledge nuggets for data analysis across multiple projects.
- Participate in supplier discussions to generate new ideas and solutions for cost reduction.
- Leverage DFSS methodology to identify early technical risks in product development and create robust products meeting customer specifications.
- Foster new patents and disclosures while working on new product development, VAVE, and problem‑solving initiatives.
