Senior Electrical Estimator

Description

• Work closely with engineering, scheduling, procurement, and field leadership to ensure estimates are aligned with execution plans.
• Prepare detailed electrical estimates (quantity takeoffs, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor scopes) for semiconductor fabrication plants, tool installs, central utility buildings, cleanrooms, and other high-tech facilities.
• Review IFC drawings, P&IDs, one-lines, specifications, BIM models, and semiconductor design packages.
• Identify constructability concerns and scope gaps in design documents.
• Prepare comprehensive bid packages including scope narratives, clarifications, inclusions/exclusions, and risk assessments.
• Develop conceptual, ROM, and full GMP estimates based on varying levels of design development.
• Evaluate design changes, addenda, RFIs, and VE opportunities.
• Participate in lessons-learned reviews to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client discussions to confirm requirements and validate scope.
• Work with preconstruction and project management teams to develop bid strategies and competitive pricing models.
• Interpret complex semiconductor tool install requirements, including power distribution, controls, trays, cable routing, grounding, and high-purity system interfaces.
• Provide estimating support to project teams during handoff, buyout, and early construction phases.
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.

Requirements

• Experience in tool install, high-purity system integration, subfab, and central utility plant electrical systems.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in industrial electrical construction (semiconductor experience strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of semiconductor facility environments:
• Proficiency in electrical estimating software (Accubid, McCormick, Trimble, or similar).
• Ability to work under tight deadlines on multi-phase semiconductor project schedules.
• Engineering background: Electrical Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, sequence-of-operations documentation, and equipment cut sheets.
• Semiconductor fab construction estimating experience for Tier 1 clients (TSMC, Intel, Micron, Samsung, etc.).
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and semiconductor construction safety standards.
• Excellent communication, proposal writing, and teamwork abilities.
• High attention to detail with the ability to handle extremely technical, fast-moving scopes.
• Strong Excel and quantitative analysis skills.
• Experience in BIM/VDC environments and model-based quantity extraction.
• Fab tool electrical requirements
• Strong problem solving and ability to identify risks early.
