PV Service & Electrical Repair Technician

Description

The role blends residential electrical work—such as circuit installation, lighting, EV charging stations, and panel upgrades—with solar photovoltaic maintenance, including equipment replacements and system enhancements. Technicians also manage job preparation, client communication, documentation, vehicle upkeep, and safety compliance.

• Perform residential electrical service calls: diagnose issues, present solutions, and execute high‑quality repairs.
• Install and repair lighting circuits, receptacles, wiring, conduit, ceiling fans, EV chargers, disconnects, and other residential components.
• Sell and install panel upgrades, handling utility applications and coordinating with project coordinator.
• Design and sell whole‑home surge protection, rewiring, generator inlets, electrification upgrades, and safety enhancements.
• Diagnose, repair, and upgrade residential solar PV systems, including inverter and optimizer replacements, module testing, and wiring corrections.
• Troubleshoot production, shading, and monitoring failures; correct installation deficiencies.
• Provide recommendations and quotes for system upgrades, repairs, or modernizations.
• Prepare equipment, parts, and tool lists for each job.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and clients to ensure efficient service flow.
• Document all work with photos and notes; collect signatures and complete service paperwork for accurate job costing.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work vehicle.
• Work safely on ladders, roofs, and elevated surfaces.
• Build trust with homeowners through excellent communication and a customer‑first mindset.
• Convert discovered problems into repairs and increased revenue through effective sales communication.

Requirements

We seek candidates with solid electrical or PV service knowledge, excellent communication skills, sales aptitude, and a self‑motivated, safety‑focused mindset. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 lb and work outdoors on roofs; a valid driver’s license and clean DMV record are mandatory. Prior experience is preferred, but training is provided for motivated individuals.
