Principal Engineer - ICA

Description

The role involves taking a key position within the US Water services sector, providing technical advice, leading by example, managing selected projects or components, and building networks within the water industry.

• Manage selected projects or components, ensuring budget, quality, and schedule targets are met.
• Conduct quality assurance, gather client feedback, and communicate changes effectively.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to maintain overall design integrity.
• Provide technical advice to project team members.
• Review project deliverables (drawings, reports, specifications, studies) for compliance.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships and liaise with project directors/managers.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safety culture.

Requirements

• Hold a B.E/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Possess 10–15 years of experience designing instrumentation and control systems for the water industry.
• Proficient in P&ID development, block/network diagrams, motor control schematics, and instrument take‑offs.
• Experience creating wiring diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, and mounting details.
• Hands‑on expertise with PLC/HMI/SCADA configuration; strong knowledge of Allen Bradley, Modicon, and GE PLCs.
• Familiar with HMI platforms (Wonderware, GE Proficy, Rockwell FT, Induction Automation), historians, industrial networks, and protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, DNP3).
• Ability to develop well‑annotated PLC code and SCADA applications, perform FAT/bench testing, and use simulation tools.
• Knowledge of American, NFPA, IEEE, and IEC standards for the water industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication, report writing, analytical, and computer skills.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental aspects.
