As an FP&A Analyst, you will be helping to support the Retail Finance Business Partner in preparing financial reporting, analysis and forecasting, with strong financial controls and critical evaluation embedded in the processes.
You will play an active part in supporting a department/team at the start of a new regulatory period as they are going through a period of transitional change. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful applicant to support a highly high-profile operational business unit with several senior internal stakeholders.
- Provide inputs into key finance initiatives and support with ad-hoc queries.
- Support the budgeting and formal forecast cycles, including rolling forecast and IBP (long-term business plan).
- Regularly influencing and presenting to senior finance management, key findings from financial analysis.
- Creating high-quality reports, analysis and commentary on performance to assist decision making.
- Own and manage wider relationships to understand and communicate drivers of month-end performance and a forward-looking view to support the achievement of targets.
- Work closely with wider finance teams to ensure clarity of performance drivers and all requirements for forecast and budget are met.

Working at Thames Water
- Previous experience in budget and cost control.
- Strong analytical, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- On-hand experience in using the organisation's key financial systems (SAP & HFM) is preferable.
- Qualified Accountant. (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proactive and ambitious mindset.
- Understanding the P&L and balance sheet position provides insights into risks and opportunities.
- The ability to liaise at all levels of the business with ease, with strong written and verbal communication skills, as maintaining and building working relationships with key stakeholders is critical in this position.

Base Location: Hybrid, Walnut Court
