The Plant and Transport Supervisor will manage the operation, maintenance, and utilisation of construction plant machinery and transportation vehicles. The role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
Key duties include overseeing the company’s fleet of plant machinery, vehicles, and equipment; ensuring assets are maintained, serviced, and inspected per manufacturer and regulatory standards; monitoring utilisation to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime; coordinating equipment allocation and scheduling; developing preventative maintenance schedules; and working with maintenance teams and external providers for timely repairs and replacements.
The supervisor must ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards by conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and training for operators and drivers. They are also responsible for preparing accurate reports and documentation covering equipment usage, maintenance logs, safety incidents, and compliance records.
Throughout 2025, OCU Group has experienced sustained growth and expansion. As a result of this success, we are seeking an experienced Plant & Transport Supervisor to join our team.
The ideal candidate has previous plant and transport management experience in the construction industry, strong technical knowledge of machinery and vehicles, and a solid understanding of health and safety best practices. They should possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, be able to multitask, prioritise, and solve problems in a fast‑paced environment, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and fleet management software. A valid driver’s licence and relevant certifications such as CPCS or CPC may be required.
