The successful candidate will carry out and review detailed power system studies, ensuring technical quality and compliance with project requirements. You will also provide oversight of third-party vendors performing similar studies, including those using electromagnetic transient (EMT) software.

  • Develop and review electrical network models for onshore and offshore power systems.
  • Support all phases of project development, from concept and FEED through detailed design and execution.
  • Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, equipment sizing, dynamic motor starting, harmonic analysis, transient stability, arc flash, and protection coordination.
  • Ensure all studies align with project specifications, safety standards, and relevant industry codes.
  • Oversee and review studies completed by external consultants and software vendors.
  • Prepare clear technical reports, presentations, and recommendations.

We are looking for an experienced Power Systems Studies Engineer to support a range of onshore and offshore projects. These include local power generation schemes, renewable power systems such as battery energy storage (BESS), and grid connections up to 220kV.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Experience with EMT or other transient simulation tools is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in ETAP software (KBR standard for all power system studies).
  • Strong technical knowledge of power systems and grid connection design up to 220kV.
  • Good understanding of relevant international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and EN.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Proven experience as a Power Systems or Electrical Studies Engineer in the energy, oil and gas, or renewables sector.
