Assist the Coordinator with bid day preparation, delivering bids, and posting bid results and communicating results to subcontractors as necessary.
Assist staff in determining equipment needs, solicit pricing, and calculating labor estimates.
Perform quantity take-offs and manage scope and statements.
Enhance relationships with customers and manufacturer-suppliers.
Attend pre-bid meetings.
Attend in-house pre-construction meetings, seminars, and training programs.
Assist in the review of subcontractor quotes prior to bid.
Assist with affirmative action good-faith efforts as required.
Make phone calls as required to obtain bidding status of Primes and subcontractors prior to bid day.
Solicit sub-contractor and material pricing and copy/send bid information as required.
Assist with updating material and subcontractor sources.
Meet with project owners and/or Senior Estimators to review job conditions for private estimates.
Assist with sub-contractor and supplier database management.
Maintain effective communications with internal & external customers.
Attend estimating meetings.

Knowledge in the general construction industry.
BS or BA degree preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college.
Ability to work overtime on an as needed basis.
Experience with Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Trimble Business Center, or AGTEK.
Strong work ethic.
Basic understanding of AutoCAD.
Ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
Ability to work in a pressure environment and to meet deadlines.
Prior experience in Earthwork, Concrete, and Utility takeoff is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, bending.
