As the Compliance Lead, you will manage a team responsible for tenant applications and certifications, oversee internal audits, drive process improvements, and serve as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies and property management teams.
- Lead compliance team processing tenant applications, move‑in certifications, and annual recertifications
- Supervise and mentor Compliance Auditor, providing guidance and performance management
- Serve as primary compliance resource for property management teams
- Oversee internal audit programs, assess controls, identify risks, and ensure regulatory and lender compliance
- Establish continuous monitoring of property performance against compliance benchmarks
- Develop data integrity protocols for accurate audit information
- Analyze audit findings and recommend corrective action plans
- Generate and maintain audit reports and performance metrics
- Coordinate responses to external audits and monitoring reviews
- Lead process improvement initiatives using data‑driven analysis
- Evaluate audit results to implement enhanced workflows and procedures
- Partner with leadership to diagnose business challenges and inform strategic decisions
- Measure effectiveness of process changes
- Stay current with evolving compliance standards and integrate best practices
- Maintain expertise in affordable housing program requirements (Section 8, LIHTC, etc.)
- Act as principal contact for regulatory bodies, state housing finance agencies, HUD, and local housing authorities
- Manage tenant file reviews and support physical inspection processes
- Fulfill VAWA Coordinator responsibilities
- Oversee compliance documentation (Tenant Selection Plans, Fair Housing Marketing Plans, Enterprise Income Verification policies)
- Administer and audit Yardi Affordable workflows
- Support TRACS submissions and ongoing monitoring

Candidates must have at least five years of affordable multi‑family property management experience, preferably with supervisory duties, and possess strong analytical, communication, and decision‑making skills. The position requires standard office mobility and the ability to navigate properties as needed.
- High school diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years progressive affordable, multi‑family property management experience
- Experience with subsidized housing program administration
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Fluent English with strong oral and written communication
- Ability to interpret lender and government regulations for affordable housing
- Proven supervisory skills: feedback, coaching, training
- Tact, diplomacy, courteous interaction with coworkers, vendors, and partners
- Responsive to government agencies, lenders, contract administrators, and internal customers
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑management skills
- Detail‑oriented with strong attention to documentation
- Effective decision‑making and time management
- Physical ability to work in office, lift up to 10 lb, navigate properties, climb stairs
