Mechanic Trainee

Overview

Assist mechanic in inspecting, servicing, and repairing lifts, trucks, and forklifts.

Tasks

-Rebuilding control boxes -Pulling hydraulic cylinders (10-100lbs) -Replacing batteries (80-100lbs) -Check fluid levels. -Completion of weekly and annual lift inspections. -Maintaining equipment. -Replacing deck and lift baskets – 2 man -Diagnose issues with various types of equipment (scissor lifts, light and heavy-duty trucks, off road equipment, forklifts, and vehicles) -Make proper repairs to equipment as needed: -Making hydraulic hoses -Make recommendations regarding the state of the equipment.

What You Bring

-Mechanical aptitude is required. -Replacing drive motors (35-65lbs) -Diagnosing electrical problems -A minimum of one year experience in servicing forklifts and scissor lifts, as well as working with hydraulics and electrical circuitry is a plus. -A minimum of one year of mechanical experience is required. -Degree in Automotive Technology or Mechanic Engineering from a trade school is a plus. -Replacing electric motors (35-65lbs) -Ability to use a tape measure is required. -Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel) applications is required. -High school diploma or GED required. -Pulling deck extensions – 2 man -Pulling and replacing tires (10-100+lbs) – bar available for heavier tires -Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
