Security Engineer

Description

This business powers 1 in 4 public transport journeys across the UK, 4 billion transactions a year. Through technology they enable contactless “tap and go” on trains for Transport for Wales, run the ticketing back office for all UK Smartcard rail travel, and power the West Midlands’ Swift, and enable free travel for over 300,000 young people in Scotland, as well as managing concessionary travel programmes for Local authorities. Over 30% of all Smartcard terminal in the UK run on their software.

They’re looking for a Security Engineer to play a critical role in safeguarding their products, infrastructure, and data. You will design, implement and maintain robust security measures to protect their systems against ever evolving cyber threats, while ensuring compliance with Security standards.

• Manage security controls across on prem and AWS environments. Lead incident response, vulnerability assessments and pentest co-ordination.
• Manage IAM systems and support Engineering teams with threat modelling and secure development practices.
• Manage physical security (access control etc)

Requirements

Are you a Cyber Security Engineer with 2 years+ Experience looking for a new challenge?

• Own ISO27001, Cyber Essentials+, PCI-DSS and GDPR compliance.
• Scripting skills (e.g. python, Powershell or Bash
• Cloud security knowledge
• 2+ years experience within Cyber Security – hands on experience with SIEM, Vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection a plus!
