The tool and die maker is responsible for designing, planning, fabricating, assembling, and maintaining tooling used in stamping operations. This role works closely with production and engineering teams to ensure that parts meet dimensional tolerances, quality standards, and are optimized for manufacturability.
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical or vocational training in CNC operation preferred, and a minimum of three years’ experience in tool and die work. Required competencies include strong machining and setup abilities, proficiency with CAD/CAM/3D software, and knowledge of progressive and transfer stamping tools.
Preferred qualifications include the ability to interpret complex blueprints, strong mechanical and analytical skills, solid mathematics understanding, and possession of a journeyman card or apprenticeship certificate. The position also demands physical capability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 35 lb unassisted.
