Description

The SCADA Operator role focuses on monitoring, controlling, and optimizing utility systems through the Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA platform, ensuring optimal performance and regulatory compliance.

Key duties include adjusting system parameters, analyzing data trends, responding to alarms, generating performance reports, managing permits, coordinating testing and preventive maintenance, preparing equipment for work by isolating and setting setpoints, adhering to safety protocols, and keeping the control room organized.

• Monitor and control utility systems using Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA, adjusting parameters for optimal performance.
• Analyze SCADA trends and data to troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless HMI operation.
• Respond promptly to alarms, assess severity, initiate corrective actions, and maintain alarm logs.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system performance, downtime, and incidents.
• Manage permits for utility operations and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate testing and preventive maintenance, monitor parameters, provide feedback, and document outcomes.
• Prepare systems for testing or preventive maintenance by isolating equipment and adjusting setpoints via SCADA.
• Adhere to safety protocols, report malfunctions, and participate in Rockwell FactoryTalk training.
• Maintain a clean and organized control room environment.

Requirements

Ideal candidates hold a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or a related field, and have 4–5 years of SCADA operation experience, preferably with Rockwell FactoryTalk. Required skills cover SCADA troubleshooting, data analysis, communication, knowledge of utility systems, and basic permit‑to‑work and safety awareness, with preferred certifications in Rockwell FactoryTalk or equivalent.

• Hold a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related field.
• Possess 4–5 years of SCADA Operator experience, preferably with Rockwell FactoryTalk software.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating and troubleshooting SCADA systems.
• Exhibit strong analytical skills for interpreting data trends and alarms.
• Show excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Familiarity with utility systems such as power, water, and HVAC and their operational requirements.
• Basic knowledge of permit‑to‑work systems and safety regulations.
• Preferred: SCADA system training or Rockwell FactoryTalk certification.
