  • Responsible to sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip and polish floors and equipment.
  • Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
  • Incumbent will clean and sanitize rest room facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains: refrigerated water coolers, custodial mop sinks, rest room sinks, urinals and toilets: replenish supplies in restrooms, etc.
  • Timely completion and accuracy of all work.
  • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces and elevated levels using ladders.
  • Responsible in ensuring all dusting (both high and low) areas are maintained as necessary and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring all tables and chairs are cleaned and polished as required.
  • Responsible for the timely reporting of accidents, injuries, “near-miss”, and hazardous situations.
  • Responsible for cleaning window blinds either Venetian or vertical as required.
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment for cleaning and replace when completed.
  • Wash windows (both interior and exterior), mirrors and walls. Washing windows may require use of ladders.
  • Perform specialized projects such as restoration programs on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items.
  • Plan, organize work, and meet all deadlines.

  • Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

  • General knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • At least 2 years of Janitorial experience.

  • Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
