The Senior Virtual Design Construction Specialist provides routine Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration and coordination for assigned projects. This role creates models and documents, offers BIM technical support, and assembles 3D content produced by others, all in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.
- Provide models and documents needed for project scope as defined by VDC/BIM leadership.
- Assemble 3D content modeled by others and create missing content.
- Maintain a productive BIM process and incorporate design updates into project models.
- Create and maintain project documentation such as meeting agendas, minutes, and constraint logs.
- Support the RFI process for BIM‑related items and maintain relationships with subcontractors and project teams.
- Analyze construction documents and models for errors, correct omissions, and apply BIM requirements.
- Provide BIM technical support to internal project teams.
- Conduct independent VDC processes and communicate project constraints to supervisor and teams in a timely manner.
- Deliver training on BIM tools to project teams.
- Align owner requirements, BIM execution plans, and front‑end scopes to meet minimum project requirements.
- Participate in self‑perform VDC model management and field layout processes.
- Lead project teams through VDC processes and set up project‑specific VDC technology (intermediate level).
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Apply JE Dunn VDC/BIM processes and standards.
- Build collaborative relationships internally and externally.

- Perform work accurately, completely, and on schedule.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and effective presentation delivery.
- Knowledge of Lean processes, organizational resources, and complex problem solving.
- Intermediate proficiency in Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Design Collaboration, Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP), Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks Manage (including JE Dunn clash workflow), Trimble SketchUp, Bluebeam, JE Dunn Enterprise Mobile Solution, laser scanning, Trimble Tekla Structures (self‑perform), and Trimble Field Layout Solutions (self‑perform).
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a construction‑related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2+ years construction or related experience.
- Minimum 2+ years BIM‑related experience.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license; able to lift up to 25 lb; may require travel and non‑traditional hours; work may be on‑site or office; exposure to extreme temperatures; primarily sedentary computer work with occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing.
