This position is responsible for performing tasks that involve physical labor and carpentry at a construction site using hand and power tools of all types. This position is responsible for the layout and construction of formwork, false work, finished systems, as well as set up and removal of shoring. As a Carpenter, you may be asked to identify required materials and equipment needed to construct foundations, curbs, ramps, walls, columns, stairs, decks, and other structures needed to bring a project to completion.

This position may also assist other craft workers in their duties, while also cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces for support, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris, and removing other non-hazardous waste materials. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

  • Four or more years of experience in all phases of carpentry required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position.

  • OSHA 10-hour
  • Trenching and shoring training
  • Commercial metal stud framing, ACT (Acoustical Ceiling Tile) installation, and drywall experience preferred.
  • Two or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in commercial construction required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.
