CEP Structural Engineering

Description

The primary mission is to ensure the structural integrity of passenger rail cars through inspection, analysis, design verification, and production support.

• Inspect, measure, and collect data on damaged passenger railcars at overhaul shops.
• Perform structural engineering calculations and manual analyses of stressed‑skin and welded steel assemblies.
• Create free‑body diagrams for railcar structural components.
• Use finite‑element analysis results and manual calculations to verify safety margins of components and connections.
• Review fabrication drawings to ensure they reflect engineering design intent.
• Provide production support and handle additional related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil (Structural) engineering.
• Possess 0–2 years of relevant experience; manual calculation and structural design background preferred.
• CEP certification (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) preferred but not required.
• Experience in the railway industry and interest in stress analysis and strength of materials are assets.
• Fluent in French and English, with ability to prepare reports and presentations in both languages.
• Demonstrate autonomy, dynamism, and strong attention to detail.
