Description

The role supports the company's goals and represents Pike Engineering positively, requiring effective oral and written communication, accurate record-keeping, and continuous improvement of engineering knowledge and performance.

• Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance for problem identification, analysis, and resolution within the area of expertise.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities effectively.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Continuously improve job‑related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Support company goals and represent the organization positively and professionally.
• Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations with clear presentations.
• Manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to team members.

Requirements

This entry-level engineering position provides technical expertise to solve problems within a specific area of focus, working under close supervision while developing greater independence and professional skill.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET‑accredited engineering program or equivalent credentials (NCEES evaluation, or master’s/doctoral degree from an accredited institution).
• Understand basic engineering theories, principles, electricity, and power quality.
• Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse socio‑economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Know distribution construction standards and methods.
• Demonstrate self‑motivation, ability to work independently, and team‑oriented, customer‑focused attitude.
• Pass the Engineering Fundamentals Exam (desired).
• Apply basic project‑management principles (desired).
• Possess experience in the utility industry (desired).
