Provide strategic insights and reporting to the Manager – Fire Services Strategy and Capability Development on compliance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Support incident investigations and post-incident reviews to ensure lessons learned are captured and integrated into operational standards.
Maintain and update Operations documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring alignment with legislative requirements, Defence directives and operational excellence goals.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Defence contract requirements, and industry best practices in aviation fire rescue, fire, and rescue operations.
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality, risk, compliance and assurance frameworks aligned with Defence and Ventia standards.
Champion a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement across all fire service teams.
Collaborate with Emergency Response Trainers and Station Leaders to ensure training programs meet compliance and quality benchmarks.
Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews of operational policies and practices across all fire stations to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.

Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, ISO standards, Defence and contract delivery compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, project management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Must be able to maintain a defence security clearance, as a result the successful incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
Extensive experience in fire services, preferably within Defence or aviation rescue environments (highly regarded).
Proven ability to lead audits, develop standards, and influence operational behaviour’s.
Expertise in designing and implementing assurance frameworks
Tertiary qualifications in compliance, quality management, in emergency services, or related field.
