The Superintendent will plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support project timelines, review construction documents for completeness and constructability, and coordinate plans with design engineers. They will develop and manage the project schedule, site logistics plan, and utilize tools and equipment while collaborating with partner superintendents.
Leadership duties include coaching, supervising, and developing team members, conducting orientations, planning sessions, site meetings, and managing performance through hiring, transfers, and dismissals. The role also requires building effective relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, providing coaching, feedback, and career‑development discussions.
High‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance is essential, with the Superintendent expected to identify and mitigate adverse conditions and pursue process improvements. Proper task coding, work‑progress tracking, and team‑member training are also responsibilities.
Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or possess at least ten years of trade experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to oversee multiple complex projects from development through closeout. Required skills include detail‑orientation, basic knowledge of construction law, intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, strong communication, a professional attitude, and the ability to travel up to 100 % of the time. Minimum experience is five years for Superintendent I and eight years for Superintendent II.
Base pay ranges from $111,400‑$167,100 for Level I and $130,100‑$195,200 for Level II, with adjustments for locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
