The Construction Director serves as a senior leader responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic growth across utility‑scale solar projects. The role focuses on implementing innovative resources, new revenue streams, and optimizing processes to standardize and enhance all construction operations.
- Set direction, coordinate, and evaluate the construction division.
- Recruit, train, assign, and manage staff performance, including hiring, appraisals, rewards, and discipline.
- Enforce company safety policies and collaborate with the Safety Director on site safety issues.
- Assist the Vice President in developing and executing the division’s strategic plan.
- Drive departmental profitability and achieve client satisfaction targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, owners, and clients.
- Resolve conflicts involving subcontractors, material delays, contract disputes, and trade issues.
- Oversee communication, monitor job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
- Manage Project Managers and Field Superintendents, providing feedback and conducting annual performance appraisals.
- Contribute new ideas and help implement policies as a member of the divisional management team.

Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the Director provides leadership to Project Managers and senior construction staff, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards and company policies. The position is remote, open to candidates anywhere in the United States, and requires up to 50 % travel to project sites, with a vehicle allowance and company credit card for business travel.

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience, preferably in solar or EPC environments.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, and project management.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and regulations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for reports and presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Viewpoint, and construction software.

The compensation package includes a base salary of $190,000‑$235,000, performance‑based bonus potential, and regular merit reviews.
