  • Regulatory Compliance: Supports regulatory requirements related to inspections and evaluations of offshore wind components and associated administration of reports. Ensures equipment and systems operate within their design capacity. Assesses the need for and develops design change requests to the Offshore Wind Management Team in accordance with Dominion Power Generation design authority and within regulatory guidelines.
  • Supports the CVOW Configuration Management program.
  • Assists in the development of and ensures the successful implementation of the CVOW business plan.
  • Develops or participates in the review or revision of CVOW operating procedures, engineering design, and/or technical instructions. Interfaces with outside engineering resources on as required.
  • Provides engineering direction, root cause analysis, supports plant commissioning activities, and coordinates with CVOW staff and/or contracted personnel during planned or forced outages, or project work.
  • Works collaboratively with CVOW leadership and designated staff to assist in the development/management of O&M and Capital budgets for major maintenance and/or operations projects, planned and unplanned outages.
  • Provides direct supervision to Engineering staff, Technical Specialists, Technicians, and other personnel. The position is responsible for monitoring and evaluating employee performance, coaching employees, making work assignments, and developing assigned staff.
  • Performance Engineering: Monitors and analyzes wind energy conversion efficiency, turbine availability, power conversion and transmission efficiency including undersea cable performance and power conditioning equipment and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Condition Based Assessment: Evaluates and manages offshore component structural integrity, balance of plant inspections, diagnostic services, maintenance history and support of the Long-Term Service Agreement with the turbine supplier.

  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in a Power plant or industrial facility preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement on the utilization of resources.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of Power Generation, Power Conversion, and Power Transmission.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, skilled in the communication of technical information for various audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Possesses a general to thorough knowledge of root cause analysis and is proficient in technical report writing.
  • 7+ years of power plant processes and equipment, and the interrelationships between them as well as the operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical information, blueprints and engineering data, interpret charts, graphs, and gauge scales.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of finance and accounting related to capital and O&M activities and equipment designations.
  • Ability to effectively supervise, train and direct others (employees, contractors/vendors) safely and effectively.
