This position is responsible for setting up and operating the simpler machines in Department 44, including assembly operations, drilling, tapping, grinding, painting, and handwork. The role ensures machines run efficiently and meet production standards.
Operators are expected to run hand tools, the paint line, and tap and thread equipment as needed, while performing and documenting all quality checks for each machine. They must monitor coolant concentrations, replace or adjust tooling, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, complete required forms, and carry out any additional duties assigned.
The employee must be able to read manufacturing prints and work order packets, sharpen chasers, and conduct basic CMBIS transactions. They should also interpret drawings to set up equipment, produce acceptable products, and troubleshoot minor issues within the work center.
Candidates need equivalent experience with training in ABC print and work order reading, as well as detailed machine operation training. The ability to safely lift, lower, push, or pull up to 40 pounds is also required.
