Verify that construction agrees with electrical engineering design drawings
Assist field personnel in resolving unanticipated site conditions
Assist in the development and evaluation of the technical requirements for procurement and construction packages
Interface and present to multiple stakeholders (e.g. customer decision-makers, project teams, etc.)
Perform data analysis and basic engineering calculations required for designs from low voltage through 500 kV substations.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and Design Phase Managers to successfully deliver design projects
Assist with the review and approval of equipment vendor drawings and test reports on equipment from manufacturers
Provide engineering support for proposals, estimating, procurement, and construction
Managed team scheduling and balancing competing priorities for successful implementation of the work for the team
Responsible for working closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate the overall design package and requirements
Assist in the implementation of a QA/QC process
Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria by using judgment in making adaptations and modifications and providing interpretations and conclusions with support from other Engineers
Assists higher and lower-level engineers in the completion of large complex projects
Support studies methodology development that shape analysis practices aligned with our customer requirements and Mortenson’s best practice standards
Mentor, coach and develop junior team members
Managed other team members and worked through personnel issues successfully

Professional Engineering (PE) certification
12+ years of related work experience in system studies, ideally for wind, solar, storage projects. Including modeling inverter generation systems with a strong understanding of power flows, short circuit, reactive power, losses, TOV, harmonics and arc flash. Understanding all inputs, modeling factors and being able to communicate results in report format and verbally to others
Experienced in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
