The Surveyor will lead projects, pursue new business opportunities, and ensure quality control, budgeting, and client satisfaction across the designated practice area. Responsibilities include overseeing staff deliverables, managing project scopes and budgets, and collaborating with project managers to resolve performance issues.
- Produce CAD drawings (boundary, topographic, land title) and construction calculations.
- Review, process, and verify accuracy of field survey data and measurements.
- Prepare legal descriptions and research survey records/land titles.

- Plan projects, assign staff, and monitor performance metrics and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve issues and maintain profitability.
- Share information efficiently, apply critical thinking, execute strategy, foster learning, and identify talent.
- Walk on uneven terrain, work in extreme weather, bend, squat, dig monument holes, and pound stakes.
- Operate brush‑cutting equipment and drive survey vehicle.

Huitt‑Zollars is seeking a full‑time Registered Project Surveyor for its Irvine/Thousand Oaks office. The role reports to the Survey Manager, involves 40 hours per week, and requires a California LSIT or Professional Land Surveyor registration.
- Minimum 7 years surveying experience; California LSIT or Professional Land Surveyor registration required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experienced with Autodesk survey databases; MicroStation and Trimble Business Center a plus.
- Experience with field staking, design plan interpretation, and GPS/Trimble equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills for supervising crews and working with engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Prolonged desk work; lift/carry up to 50 lb and hike steep slopes with equipment.
Benefits
