Working as part of and leading our local commercial teams embedded with these clients, with the ability to take ownership of significant programmes and advising on the administration of NEC and iChemE contracts, including assessment of contractual change and payments, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practices.

Collaborating with client and commercial teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.

Ensuring that final accounts are audited, negotiated and agreed
Analyse and review a range of data and documents to collate key themes and trends, using this analysis in conjunction with own knowledge to provide advice and make recommendations to support cost and commercial management decision-making.
Work within established financial systems to provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
Providing thought leadership and strategic oversight.
Provide advice on and manage Risk and value management/meetings as required for the projects.
Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow to ensure that applications are made correctly and on time through all gateways to minimise cost and scope changes throughout the project life cycle.

Possess a minimum 10 years postgraduate experience in Commercial Management
Experience in managing, coaching and mentoring colleagues
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering
Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion.
Is an experienced leader of cost and commercial teams
Have a minimum of 3 years experience in the water industry
Possess the skills to actively support our internal team and manage staff on projects typically ranging between £40m and £150m.
Demonstrating self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties.
Good knowledge of specialised fields, including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting.
Experience in Client Development
Appropriate professional body membership e.g MRICS, CinstCES (or equivalent)
NEC Contract experience and iChemE Desirable
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
