Solving the world’s hardest engineering challenges through end‑to‑end solutions across industries.
The Power Plant Site Engineering Support (Static Equipments) role is responsible for technical design and engineering of inlet, exhaust, fire protection, heating and ventilation systems, skids, gas turbine base frames, accessory bases, tooling and enclosures for gas‑based power plant projects, and it coordinates with site teams, other engineering disciplines, customers and suppliers during the commissioning phase.
The incumbent supports non‑conformance cases, site queries, and supplier deviation requests; creates field modification instructions and mod‑kits; provides technical solutions for static equipment issues; and works with the Product Support Leader to improve SDR conversion rates and drive Mechanical COE quality KPIs. Additionally, they develop corrective and preventive actions, ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, GE Vernova design rules and safety/environmental requirements, and maintain a coordinated approach with other engineering disciplines and the technical team leader.
Participation in SAFER case studies, design reviews, and timely closure of corrective actions is required, along with proactive customer responsiveness, diligent follow‑up of supplier deviations and field issues, and prompt closure of ER/NCR items while populating the ERS database for generic cases. The role also supports the project team by responding on time to customer document comments and questionnaires.
Required qualifications include a mechanical engineering degree or master's from a recognized university, at least two years of relevant experience (preferably with GE Vernova gas turbines), and knowledge of ANSI, ASME, AMCA, ASHRAE codes and design methods. Desired characteristics are strong oral and written communication, problem‑analysis and resolution skills, customer and cost focus, resilience under stress, openness to innovation, flexibility, proactive solution identification, positive attitude, and the ability to negotiate and present effectively.
