You will work on a variety of projects, from modelling new connections to analysing how renewable gas and hydrogen will fit into the system. The work is diverse, one day you could be investigating pressure issues on the network, on the next, running models to test the impact of connecting new green energy sources. You will also play a key part in supporting our ambitious East Coast Hydrogen (ECH) project, which is set to transform the way energy is delivered across the region.
- Model complex gas networks using advanced tools like Falcon, Synergi, and PRISM to simulate planned and unplanned scenarios and inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate across disciplines, from capital projects, regulation to future energy teams
- Solve real-time operational challenges supporting emergency responses and pressure investigations and respond to technical queries
- Ensure alignment with internal policies and external regulations, reviewing and updating Network Planning Procedures and contributing to the development of new documentation to reflect evolving requirements; annual Regulatory Reporting, including compiling accurate reports, supplying relevant data, and preparing associated procedural documents
- Assess the impact of exit and entry connections including hydrogen and biomethane, helping to integrate sustainable technologies into the network, and contribute to the development and delivery of future energy initiatives
