The Construction Manager is responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned operations personnel, ensuring job tasks are completed efficiently and in line with departmental and company requirements. The role also oversees day‑to‑day gas operations field activities to drive greater efficiencies and performance of dispatch and field employees.
Key duties include supervising union and non‑union staff, ensuring compliance with federal, state and corporate regulations, and executing same‑day dispatching of emergency, non‑emergency, planned and unplanned work while maintaining productivity and customer satisfaction. The manager directs dispatchers to optimize staffing, minimize overtime, meet leak response and appointment metrics, assigns construction workloads to contractors, oversees data entry of work orders, maintains service cards and permits, and participates in safety and process‑improvement programs.
Required qualifications are an associate’s degree in Business Administration (preferred) or a high school diploma coupled with 13 years of gas operations experience, strong technical proficiency as a gas operations dispatcher, and thorough knowledge of field‑operations policies and dispatch systems. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication, strong people skills for high‑pressure situations, at least five years of customer‑service experience with leadership responsibilities, and the ability to handle 24/7/365 on‑call field coverage.
