The Senior Engineering Analyst – Nuclear Operational Analysis Department is based at our Byron Clean Energy facility in Byron, Illinois. This role supports nuclear plant operations by providing advanced technical and engineering analysis, ensuring safe and efficient performance of critical systems.
- Develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis programs and activities.
- Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through direct technical consultation.
- Manage engineering issues from initiation to completion, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design criteria, procedures, and codes.
- Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to support regulatory and technical projects.
- Recommend equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, or address design and code changes.
- Participate in emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs, and outage support as required.

The position focuses on advanced technical problem solving and engineering decision‑making for nuclear plant operations. It requires deep functional expertise, practical application of engineering principles, and detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 6 years nuclear or related experience (or Associate’s with 8 years, or high school/GED with 9 years); working knowledge of engineering processes; required access clearance and favorable medical examination.
- Preferred qualifications: Experience with protective relay, transformer, high‑potential, and insulation testing; proficiency with Doble, Manta, Megger, Omicron simulators and related test equipment; routine maintenance of protective relays, generator voltage regulators, distributed control systems, sequence‑of‑events recorders, and security systems.
