- Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to ensure timely detection and response
- Implement and manage data encryption technologies to protect sensitive data both at rest and in transit. Ensure the proper use of cryptographic algorithms and key management practices
- Design, implement, and manage data security solutions to protect sensitive data and information systems
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture
- Lead data breach investigations and respond to security incidents related to data. Work closely with internal teams to mitigate the effects of data loss, theft, or corruption
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks
- Prepare and present reports on security metrics, incidents, and compliance status to senior management
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security controls into system architectures and applications
- Provide guidance and training to employees on data security best practices and awareness

- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and ISO 27001
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC are highly desirable
- Deep expertise in data security principles, best practices, and governance frameworks, ensuring robust protection and compliance across data ecosystems
- Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, and identity and access management (IAM)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools for security processes
- 4-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with strong hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies, such as penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessment
- Experience with cloud security, particularly in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Solid understanding of AWS Cloud services and their applications in data processing and analytics
- Experience in incident response and digital forensics
