Review and comment on drawings, specifications, plans and applications to ensure City standards, specifications and relevant environmental requirements are met.
Prepare environmental reports for submission to regulators and the administration.
Ensure compliance of personnel, equipment, materials, contractors and consultants at work sites to meet Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act, The City of Regina Occupational Health and Safety Manual, City of Regina Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures, and legislative and regulatory requirements.
Supervise and direct staff, consultants and contractors as required.
Prepare environmental applications and renew regulatory as needed to ensure seamless operations.
Conduct field inspections, surveys, environmental surveillance and environmental and wastewater testing as required.
Approve requisitions, expenditures and other transactions within the limits of established authority.
Provide technical analysis and environmental engineering support related to wastewater, water, drainage, solid waste, infrastructure planning, design, , and asset management.
Develop and review engineering design, material testing and technology/equipment standards and specifications.
Manage projects, work programs and budgets, including contract administration.
Research, evaluate and provide advice on application of technologies, methods and industry best practice related to environmental services.
Initiate, develop, maintain and coordinate datasets related to environmental management, infrastructure planning and field inspections.
Research, and assemble information and prepare technical reports.
Represent the branch in meetings with other branch staff, other departments, the public, consultants, contractors, other government agencies, community associations and City advisory committees.

Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and have a vehicle available for work usage (a travel allowance is provided). Experience driving a half ton truck would be beneficial.

Ability to oversee and direct work of others.
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply environmental engineering practices, principals, theories, computations, analysis and statistics.
Tactfully and adequately respond to concerns and inquiries from the general public and other branches and divisions.

The knowledge abilities and skills are typically obtained through completion of a two-year diploma in Environmental or Water Resources Engineering Technology and a minimum of two years experience in related engineering/technical field.
Must be able and willing to perform work of a physical nature in all types of plant, field environments and inclement conditions.
Will be required to work from variable bases of operation. (i.e. Landfill, Water Supply and/or other designated bases.)
