A leading UK housebuilder, creating high-quality homes and communities across the UK.
The role provides engineering support throughout the development process, from initial viability advice to design development, technical consent and construction. You will assess consultant designs for cost‑effectiveness, legislative compliance and practicality, and advise internal teams and selected contractors.
Key duties include commissioning and managing civil and structural consultants, ensuring data readiness for tendering and consents, and liaising with NHBC and statutory bodies to meet pre‑construction standards. You will interpret geo‑technical reports, prepare early site designs, procure utility proposals, and resolve engineering issues within planning applications. Ongoing responsibilities cover foundations, plot drainage, monitoring CML issues during construction, securing technical approvals and attending site and project meetings.
The successful candidate will have extensive engineering experience in housebuilding—roads, sewers, foundations, land drainage and utilities—and hold an engineering degree or equivalent accredited by RICS or ICE. High proficiency in AutoCAD, PDS, Windes and Microdrainage is required, together with the ability to interpret geotechnical and environmental reports, produce technical site appraisals and negotiate approvals under tight deadlines.
