Principal Consultant, Climate Change and Air Quality

Global consultancy delivering environmental, health, safety, risk, social and sustainability services.
Principal Consultant responsible for conducting air quality analyses, building and executing greenhouse gas inventories, developing air quality permits, and advising clients on methane and carbon reduction opportunities.
Build and execute Scope 1, 2 and 3 Greenhouse Gas Inventories for clients with complex, global operations.
Perform multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Advise clients on potential methane and carbon reduction opportunities through the promoted use of emerging technologies, best management practices, or energy reduction practices.
Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.
Conduct air quality analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations.
Prepare emission inventory reports; quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts.
Develop complete and accurate air quality permits for Title V, Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), and New Source Review compliance. Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuance.
Evaluate air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of air pollution control equipment.

6+ years of experience required (15+ years preferred) of direct consulting or industry experience involving environmental permitting and compliance. Experience with air quality construction permits and Title V permitting; PSD, NSR, Best Available Control Technology (BACT), and/or MACT experience a plus.
Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes.
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, or environmental, engineering or Bachelor’s degree in environmental or related sciences; Masters’ degree preferred but not mandatory. Or equivalent experience.
