What you would be doing

  • Undertake client meeting and precontract meetings.
  • Anticipating and resolving problems, in particular related to engineering issues;
  • Produce and review construction methods statements ensuring that the works are constructed efficiently and safely;
  • Ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the contract and design information, drawings, specification and Project Management Plan;
  • Management of internal resource and accountabilities;
  • Produce all site documentation for delivery of the works including PMP, PVPMP, ITP, Construction Phase Management Plan etc. as required;
  • To be responsible for the monitoring, progress reporting and achieving of goals for the work under his/her responsibility;
  • Managing construction records, O&M manuals and as built drawings;
  • Understand and apply the procedures and processes detailed in the project Health, Safety and Environmental plans, and to promote a safe working culture;
  • Prepare and review risk assessments and support and drive behavioural safety on site;

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally;
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • Strong computer skills - focused on Excel/Word/PowerPoint;
  • 5 years’ experience in the construction industry;
  • Ability to manage multiple scheme costs;
  • Ability to manage multiple teams efficiently;
  • Ability to manage Health and Safety including Behavioural Safety;
  • Experience working for a piling, ground engineering or civils subcontractor;
  • A Civil Engineering Degree (or equivalent).
  • Experience in delivery of civil engineering contracts on various scales;
  • Ability to lead, communicate and influence others to deliver targets;
