Independence Excavating is looking for a Community Relations Representative to join our team. The representative serves as the primary liaison between the contractor, client, project stakeholders, and the surrounding community during active construction. The role manages communications, attends meetings, addresses community concerns, and ensures accurate, timely dissemination of project information while coordinating closely with project leadership to align communication efforts with project goals and schedules.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 1–5 years of public‑relations experience preferred. Strong writing, editing, public‑speaking, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills are required, as is the ability to translate complex construction projects into relatable stories. The position is full‑time, on‑site during active construction, and involves frequent interaction with the public, government agencies, and project stakeholders.
