This role will oversee remediation and mitigation activities, oversee consultants and vendors, and support the associated policies, procedures, underwriting standards and practices.
This position will work closely with the Senior Environmental Manager and Vice President of Legal Counsel and the Asset Management Team to help identify, address, and manage environmental risk at the company. The environmental project manager will be responsible for providing technical review, data analysis, and evaluation of environmental conditions including those described in environmental due diligence reports and environmental assessment and remediation progress reports.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with requirements and environmental standards.
- Review and evaluate Phase I, Phase II Site Assessments Reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Review and evaluate tenant chemical inventories, and permit requirements.
- Provide frequent updates to management detailing project status.
- Support business units requests for environmental information.
- Management of Rexford environmental monitoring, mitigation and remediation activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Technical review of environmental reports and environmental compliance records prepared by outside consultants.
- Collaborate and coordinate with business groups to implement environmental strategy and activities.
- Manage a diverse project portfolio and manage concurrent priorities effectively.
- Monitor and track consultant performance and schedules, and direct consultant work as necessary.
- Develop scopes of work, contracting administration, engage and supervise consultants.
- Provide technical recommendations to management to advance environmental project performance.
- Reviews historic environmental conditions and projects and provide summaries.

The ideal candidate will understand environmental regulatory initiatives and emerging environmental risks. Must work effectively with interdepartmental teams, environmental consultants, attorneys, and insurers, and external stakeholders. Must be able to work independently to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency in using environmental management software and tools and online regulatory platforms.
- Excellent technical report review and editing capabilities.
- Experience in managing environmental compliance (SWPPP, Regulated and hazardous waste, Air quality).
- Knowledge of California Environmental Regulatory Programs
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in large scale construction and redevelopment and reviewing as-built designs.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in environmental science or related field including Geology, Environmental engineering, Biology, or Construction Management.
- Attention to detail, highly organized, and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- An understanding of environmental regulations, technologies, and sustainability trends relevant to facility operations.
- Proficiency in indoor air quality monitoring, methane monitoring, landfill compliance, regulated waste compliance, SWPPP compliance.
- Minimum of four years of experience in analysis of or project management of environmental assessment, investigation, mitigation activities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with stakeholders including environmental consultants, attorneys, insurers and internal teams.

*These stock grants are subject to approval by the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, are currently subject to vesting over a four-year period, with 25% of the grant vesting per year, and require continued employment on the grant date and each applicable vesting date. Actual bonus and stock grants are discretionary based on company and/or individual performance determined by Rexford Industrial in its sole discretion, and the amount of any such bonus and/or stock grant may be less or more than the targets (and may be zero). You must remain employed through the payment date of any such bonus and/or vesting to be eligible for payment/vesting.
Work Arrangement: While we currently follow a hybrid work model, at least 1-2 days per week at the office will be expected at this time.
Rexford Industrial's total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility and long-term stock incentives. The expected annual base salary range for this role is $108,000 to $140,000, with a 15% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility.*The actual base salary and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final base salary and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.
