Description

The garage supervisor will oversee personnel who perform repairs and maintenance on heavy vehicles, ensure productivity and budget targets, supervise parts inventory, assign and close work orders, manage subcontractor relationships and approvals, respond to service calls, plan preventive maintenance, coach mechanics, and enforce health‑ and‑safety policies.

• Manage staff for distribution and execution of heavy‑vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Track productivity, budgets and optimise operations
• Supervise parts required for equipment repairs
• Assign work orders, manage approvals and close orders
• Oversee subcontractor reports and approve external repair payments
• Respond to service calls promptly
• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance (CVM)
• Coach and support mechanics in their professional development
• Participate in disciplinary processes and track working hours
• Enforce GFL health and safety policies

Requirements

Candidates must hold a DEP in mechanics, have at least five years of heavy‑vehicle experience (hydraulic knowledge is an asset), and demonstrate strong planning, organization, follow‑up, problem‑solving, communication and autonomous work abilities.
